About CBSS

Four years ago, LA-based brand Tower 28 launched the Clean Beauty Summer School: a collective effort by founders and brand experts in the beauty industry to support the growth of majority Black-owned small beauty businesses. This initiative was born from a quest to help the fight against systemic racism and injustice, through spotlighting and supporting entrepreneurs in the clean beauty industry.

In its second year, the program was expanded to welcome BIPOC-owned beauty brands. Clean Beauty Summer School alumni now totals 40+ founders who have gone on to launch into Sephora, Ulta Beauty, and Target. Past alumni include Hanahana Beauty, Rosen Skincare, and 54 Thrones.
